Seoul taps Arm’s “flexible access” bundle

South Korean governing administration has signed a multi-yr arrangement with the UK’s Arm that it hopes will help the emergence of far more Korean semiconductor startups, in a region dominated by Samsung Electronics.

The deal, signed nowadays by Arm and the Korean Ministry of SMEs and Startups (MSS) aims to kick-begin Process-on-Chip (SoC) innovation. It comes following Arm silicon companions shipped a record six.4 billion Arm-dependent chips in the past quarter of 2019 the 3rd record for device shipments in the past two years

The region will be relying on’s Arm SoC design portfolio by using its “Arm Flexible Access” giving: an solution to licensing its semiconductor technological know-how that Arm introduced in July 2019.
